SCULPTRA
Rebuild your collagen. Rediscover your confidence. Reveal yourself.
Kate's Sculptra journey
Kate is another lovely example of why I'm so passionate about collagen stimulation.
Having previously experienced Sculptra and been delighted with her results, Kate understands the beauty of gradual, natural-looking improvements.
Her treatment journey has been focused on supporting her facial structure and addressing the changes that matter most to her, while keeping her appearance beautifully her own.
Her photographs offer a glimpse of what's possible with a carefully considered, individualised treatment plan.
And that's what makes this work so rewarding.
Not simply seeing changes in a photograph, but helping people feel good about the face looking back at them.
Before-and-after photographs shared with consent. Individual results vary.Because looking refreshed shouldn't mean looking different.
It should mean looking in the mirror and thinking,
"There she is!"
What if, instead of simply filling lines and wrinkles, we could encourage your skin to rebuild some of the collagen it's been quietly losing over the years?
THAT is the beauty of Sculptra.
And honestly? I'm OBSESSED
Sculptra is an innovative injectable collagen biostimulator that works with your body's natural processes to gradually restore facial volume, improve skin firmness and soften the visible signs of ageing.
And the really glorious part? The results develop gradually.
No overnight transformation. No suddenly looking like you've returned from a mysterious holiday with an entirely new face.
Just you. Looking beautifully, confidently, unmistakably YOU.
What exactly is Sculptra?
Brace yourself for the science-y bit!
Unlike traditional dermal fillers, which provide immediate volume by placing a gel beneath the skin, Sculptra likes to play the long game.
It's made from poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA), a biocompatible, biodegradable substance that stimulates your body's natural collagen production.
Collagen is rather important stuff. It helps keep our skin looking firm, plump and supported.
Unfortunately, as we age, our collagen levels gradually decline.
Rude, frankly. Nobody asked them to leave.
And that's where Sculptra comes in.
Rather than simply filling a space, Sculptra encourages your skin to produce new collagen over time, helping to restore some of that lost facial support.
Think of it as investing in the foundations of your face, rather than simply redecorating the living room.
You may notice some immediate fullness following treatment, but this is largely due to the water used to prepare the product and will settle.
The real results develop gradually over the following weeks and months.
Good things take time. Especially collagen, apparently.
Who is Sculptra for, and what can it improve?
Ever looked in the mirror and thought, "Hang on a minute... when did THAT happen?"
Perhaps your cheeks aren't quite as full as they used to be. Your skin feels less firm, your lower face has changed, or you simply don't look as rested as you feel.
You can't necessarily put your finger on what's different. You just know things aren't quite where you remember leaving them.
Sound familiar?
Sculptra may be a wonderful option for women and men experiencing facial collagen and volume loss associated with ageing or significant weight changes.
Depending on your individual anatomy and treatment plan, it may help improve:
Facial volume loss - particularly through the cheeks, temples and midface.
Facial lines and folds - including certain nasolabial folds and other facial creases.
The appearance of skin firmness - as collagen develops and supports the treated tissues.
Overall facial rejuvenation - helping create a softer, fresher, naturally rested appearance.
I don't believe ageing is something we need to apologise for or desperately fight against.
We've earned our laughter lines, our stories and every bit of wisdom that comes with getting older.
But equally, if something about your appearance is bothering you, you're absolutely allowed to do something about it.
Without guilt. Without judgement. And without anyone telling you to just grow old gracefully.
Whatever that means.
I don't want to give you somebody else's face. I want to help you fall back in love with your own.
Real faces. Real stories.
Real confidence.
My own Sculptra journey
If you've been following Amaya for a while, you'll know I'm a firm believer in being my own guinea pig when it comes to aesthetics treatments.
And with Sculptra, I took things a step further.
I dissolved every last bit of filler in my face before starting my treatment.
Yes. All of it. Even my lips!
Not because Sculptra and dermal fillers can't work beautifully together, but because I wanted to start with a completely clean slate and see what Sculptra could achieve on its own.
And I'm so glad I did.
Watching the gradual changes in my face has been fascinating, and seeing my before-and-after photographs has been genuinely rewarding.
Not because I'm trying to look twenty again.
Good grief, no. I've done twenty (and thirty, and forty, and…well, that’s quite enough of that…). Once was quite enough, thank you!
But because I want to feel confident, vibrant and comfortable in the face looking back at me.
And that's exactly what I want for my clients, too.
Not a different face. Just a little more of the old magic.
kate’s Sculptra journey
What results can I expect?
Now, if you're someone who loves instant gratification, we need to have a little chat.
Because Sculptra is more of a slow-burn romance than a whirlwind holiday fling.
Rather than producing its full effect immediately, Sculptra encourages collagen production over time.
Some people begin noticing improvements within several weeks, with results continuing to develop over the following months.
You may notice your face gradually appearing fuller, better supported and more refreshed, with certain lines and folds becoming less noticeable.
And the best bit? Results can last for up to two years, although this varies from person to person.
Sculptra doesn't stop the ageing process, and no injectable treatment can guarantee a particular outcome.
But for suitable patients, it can be a wonderful investment in longer-term facial rejuvenation.
How many Sculptra treatments will I need?
Ah, the million-dollar question!
And the answer is...it depends.
I know. Not terribly helpful at first glance, but bear with me.
No two faces are the same, and neither are their treatment requirements.
Most people benefit from a course of treatments, commonly two or three sessions spaced several weeks apart. The number of vials needed at each appointment will depend on your anatomy, degree of volume loss and individual goals.
That's why I offer both individual Sculptra treatments and a range of treatment packages, including:
Sculptra Refresh - a course designed around one vial per session.
Sculptra Rejuvenate - a course designed around two vials per session.
More comprehensive treatment options - for those who may benefit from three vials per session.
Individual Sculptra sessions - where clinically appropriate.
We'll decide together which approach is most suitable for you.
And please don't worry if you haven't got the foggiest idea how many vials you need.
You're not supposed to. That's my job!
No unnecessary treatments. No pressure. And absolutely no cookie-cutter faces.
Let's talk about YOUR face.
You don't need to know whether Sculptra is right for you before getting in touch.
That's what consultations are for!
I'd love to welcome you into Amaya Medical Aesthetics in Cheltenham for a relaxed, face-to-face chat.
We'll discuss what's bothering you, what you'd love to improve, your medical history and previous treatments, and whether Sculptra is a suitable option.
I'll assess your facial anatomy and skin, explain what results we could realistically aim for and recommend how many sessions and vials may be appropriate.
We'll also talk through the treatment process, potential risks, side effects, aftercare, costs and available packages.
Sculptra is a medical injectable treatment, so suitability and safety always come first. Temporary swelling, tenderness and bruising can occur, and there is also a risk of lumps or nodules and rarer complications. Not everyone will be suitable.
And if I think another treatment would serve you better, I'll tell you.
Because my priority isn't selling you Sculptra.
It's helping you make the right decision for your face.
